ALUCOBOND

Alucobond

ALUCOBOND aluminium composite sheets are an exclusive product of Alcan International and are especially designed for building cladding projects or interior or exterior design.

ALUCOBOND is a composite material with two 0.5 mm thick aluminium sides and a non-toxic polyethylene core, manufactured by hot rolling and under pressure, which provides for a perfect flatness of the surface and an excellent ratio between weight and resistance. The upper surface is double-lacquered, thus obtaining a surface more resistant to abrasion, salts, humidity and UV, with a long lifetime.

ALUCOBOND aluminium composite sheets provide the architects and designers with endless possibilities to achieve creative and innovative designs. The components are easily manufactured and mounted and the wide range of applications for the interior and the exterior provides enhanced versatility.

Ever since it was marketed in 1969, ALUCOBOND has been the most popular aluminium composite panel in the world. 40 years
of experience, permanent innovation and first class services enhance the qualities of these composite panels.

characteristics / advantages

Structure of the Alucobond aluminium composite sheets

ALUCOBOND is a composite panel made of two outer aluminium sheets and a plastic core. The excellent properties of this material are a source of inspiration and offer a new range of architectural solutions, whether your project is for a private residence, a public building, an office building or an industrial plant, or you wish to create a new corporate identity.

ALUCOBOND perfectly adapts to the building outline. Its formability, flatness, stability and weather resistance are the main characteristics. Due to its composite structure, ALUCOBOND can be manufactured in various shapes. Due to its properties, ALUCOBOND is perfectly mouldable without any material loss or loss in rigidity.

ALUCOBOND characteristics and advantages:

  • Low weight, enhanced rigidity, perfect flatness
  • Diversified range of colours
  • Weather proof
  • Vibration dampening
  • Easy to fold and bend
  • Large prefab panels, quick installation
  • Low price for mounting and understructure elements
  • Endless possibilities for planning and design
  • Ready-to-install panels
  • Does not require additional soundproofing
  • Easy processing with ordinary tools
  • Short construction time, low costs

Properties of the Alucobond aluminium composite sheets

Low weight / Rigidity

The composite structure of the ALUCOBOND aluminium panels provides an impressive resistance/weight ratio, even for large size panels. Despite the light weight which allows easy transport and handling, their rigidity and resistance maintain the shape and flatness of the aluminium composite sheets even when they are exposed to temperature changes.

finishes / colours

Architecture and colours go hand in hand, that is why ALUCOBOND provides a wide range of finishes and colours.

ALUCOBOND aluminium composite sheets are available both in matt and metallic colours, and with special effects colours.
Taking the colour effects found in nature as an example, the Spectra series adds a new dimension to the colour range. The natural beauty of aluminium is particularly enhanced by the new naturAL surface series. The variety of colours is topped off by naturally coloured anodised and mill-finished surfaces.
